Steam "ed"

Why is there "ed" on "steam" when there is no third person singular? Thanks

It's served with steamed rice and steamed vegetables.

The term "vegetable" generally means the edible parts of plants
. Why is there a "s" on "mean" if there is no third person singular before "mean?" Is "generally" third person or a preposition?

"ed" has nothing to do with third person singular. You are confusing the "ed" ending with the "s" ending.
