staying, locating, living

My friend "Tom" was my neighour till he was 10 years old. Then they moved somewhere else though in the same city where we are living. I caught him online after 10 years today, now I wonder how I should ask him about his staying. I can think of the following variations :

(1) Where are you staying? [But it sounds me as if I'm asking where are you staying temporarily, actually I wanted to know where he is living.]

(2) Where are you living? [But it sounds me as if I'm asking I don't know in which city he is living. Actually I know that he is living in the same city. I want to know only where he is locating. I just wanted to know his area]

Please help me.

Just a wild guess, Gary-- I know that you live in India, of course, from your IP address.
