Stay with your family

If you had only 45 minutes to stay with your famliy a day, what would you do? Watching TV or eating? According to the latest survey about family life in Britain, many people probably do both at the same time. The results of the survey of 3,000 children and parents signal a worrying problem, the deterioration of the family unit. Some experts say that this is caused by a “family-unfriendly culture”. The results show that the average family gets togetehr for only 45 minutes a day. And most of the time is spent either in front of the TV or eating. There are two girls in my family, my sister and I. Our parents never play with us and they don’t think they should do this. When we go outside and play with other children, our mother often does the housework or cooks. When our father gets back home, we have dinner together and then we go out to play again after having helped wash the dishes. Our parents don’t always help us to do everything—sometimes we have to do things on our own. They think that this is a much better way to teach children. In fact, we hope our parents can read to us before we go to bed. We hope to spend more time with them.
