If "this way" is noun, that means 'this way' is a complement such as 'an obstacle' in the sentence, "The issue remains an obstacle in the path of a peace agreement.," 'the same' in "Nothing stays the same in this world as time goes by," and 'a college student' in "He became a college student last year." Could you tell me whether 'this way' can be interpreted as a complement?

I can't see how it could be read that way, but perhaps another member will.
