Stay bound onto

A cord that you put around you to stay bound onto the wing of the airplane and not fall off.

Sound too weird... Is there a better way to say it?

If you're keeping it similar to this, I'd probably use 'to' rather than 'onto'. I might say, as an alternative: A cord that you put around you to keep you firmly attached to the wing of the aeroplane.
