Statistical Center of Iran /vs./ Statistics Center of Iran

Hi,
There is an organization in my country (Iran) whose job is about statistics. I mean it records how many people are living in the country right now or how many people died a minute a go or how many children are born in each minute, etc. In it's website, I think it's not correctly translated into English.
In its website, it's written: Statistical Center of Iran
https://www.amar.org.ir/english

I say to myself that it's better to write "Statistics Center of Iran"

Because "statistical" is an adjective, so we don't need to use an adjective here.

Any thought?

Thank you.

I have asked this question in WR forum too. One native English speaker has agreed with me. I want to make sure if you agree with me too.

sb70012 One native English speaker has agreed with me. That's not how I read it. That person is advocating "Iranian Centre (/Center) of Statistics", not your "Statistics Center of Iran".

  • I don't disagree with that opinion, but if I had a free choice, "Iranian Office of National Statistics" would be my suggestion.

GPY "Iranian Office of National Statistics" would be my suggestion.
What if we say "Iran" instead of "Iranian"?

I mean => Iran Office of National Statistics

or

"National Statistics Office of Iran"

Is it ok?

I prefer "Iranian" in that form.
sb70012"National Statistics Office of Iran"
It's possible.

I forgot to mention earlier, though, that if there is already a well-established English-language name for this organisation, then you should probably use that rat

The first thing that came to my mind was modeled on the FBI in the US. The Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Iranian Bureau of Statistics. Possibly, but not as good to my ear, The Bureau of Statistics of Iran.
