statements about implanting microchips

0 Hello,02br
00 My name is Jan. I am from Germany. It seems to me as if in this forum are some writers who are familiar 02br
00with those issues I am just dealing with. According to the two questions below I am trying to figure out if02br
00implanting microchips might be a possibiltiy of a new kind of memorical as it is described in the task below.02br
00Since I am not a native speaker I would be very thankfull if some of you could double check my answers .02br

02br
00Have you watched this science fiction movie starring Robin Williams? Although the film did not receive very good reviews, the story starts with an interesting idea. In the not so distant future microchips are implanted into people at birth in order to record their whole lives. Robin Williams plays the role of an editor whose job is to look through the recordings when the subject is dead and put together a film to be played at the funeral. 02br
02br
01b001. Do you think that there could ever be a reason for implanting microchips into people? 02b02br
02br
00Actually, implanting microchips into human has already begun as 02br
02br
00a medical team from the university of tübingen has started scientific tests with putting peaces of microchips onto areas of the human optic nerve since 2005. The target of that effort is to help patients with that disability using those implants called MIT fix to restore vision to them. 02br
02br
00The MIT fix is an artificial retina consisting of a small plate of electrodes that is implanted in the eye. The person with the implants wears a pair of glasses linked to a video camera. A processor translates the visual information into radio signals, which are sent to a chip attached to the white of the eye. This chip communicates with the retinal electrodes inside.02br
02br
00There might be many further medical causes for implanting microchips therefor in my opinion we should face the fact that future has already begun. 02br
02br
01b002. Do you think this might ever really happen?02b02br
02br
00Such a story explores where our technology could bring us in the nearly future. 02br
00At first sight it seems as if those "final cuts" should be too intimate to us for beeing an02br
00alternative to that memorials we are familiar with, e.g photos. 02br
02br
00But at the second glance it is not as that fantastic as it seems to be. Since there are already some quite similar 00 00effords of electronical saving of parts of our live that can 00 00be found nowadays, for instance homepages or those electronical diaries one can store in the www so called blogs.02br
02br
00Although they are not linked with any ethical questions as implanted microchips are (due to the fact that making homepages or blogs is more a question of privacy than an ethic one) 00 00they are a new binary way of storing memories, a new kind of memorials all the same and they possibly will be the beginning of something like “the final cut”.0-
