Starting this year or Starting in this year?

Dear teachers,

Could you please let me know which one is correct?


(1) "Starting this year" or "Starting in this year"


The population will shrink starting this year.

The population will shrink starting in this year.

The population will shrink starting in April, 2017.


(2) Can I say "beginning" instead of "starting"?
