Starting an essay

First off, thank you for taking time to read this.

I have a great thougt for the start of my essay and I really want to use it. The problem is I don't know if I can start my essay off with a list. I think it could turn out great, but I just don't know if I can.

I totally agree with Clive.

Dude, the first part of an essay is the introduction, in other words, you should start your essay introducing the topic that you're gonna talk about. I don't think that a list is a proper intorduction. Try making a paragraph out of this list, it will be a whole lot better.
