Starting a sentence with "so that"

Hi

Is it natural to start a sentence with so that in spoken and written English? Are these sentences OK?

1- So that she won’t cry, I will put her to sleep.
2- So that I do not forget her birthday, I keep my diary with me.

Thanks,

Tom

No. It seems strange to explain why you are doing something before you even say what it is that you're doing.
