Starting a cover letter

Dear world,
I am just writing a cover letter for an international executive position.
Please tell me about your opinion of starting the letter? The expression to whom it may concern seems to be a little bit shabby. I do not know neither sex, nor title or name of the person on the other side.

expressiio dear Madame or Sir I also dislike, as word 'madame' rise some associations...

Can you suggest me some alternative options, I will be thankfull.

Kind regards,
a.

Thank you, Clive!
I just remember that I sometimes use Dear Ms or Sir instead of madame..., but I don't know how it may be accepted :-) It is not a kind of standard frase.

Hi,

Don't say Dear Ms or Dear Ms or Sir.
