(Started to have) or (had) regular staff meetings again

I have made up the similar examples below.

(1a) Three months ago, we were closed because our company was under partial renovation. Five weeks later, we reopened and started to have weekly staff meetings again.

(1b) Three months ago, ..... , we reopened and had weekly staff meetings again.

I am not sure which one is okay: "started to have weekly..." or "had weekly..." ? Please help me. Thank you very much for your time and help.

Both are acceptable. Frankly, I would expect to hear "started having weekly ...", but your two versions are fine.
