Hi,
I need your help again.
During a narration, I am referring to two persons who met each other and became friends.
Is it correct to say that A started to love B or A gradually loved B?
I am referring to innocent love, so I wouldn't like to use the phrase: A started to fall in love with B.
Thank you.

Stephanie 1A gradually loved B?
This doesn't sound right. You can say "gradually started/began to love", however.

The use of the highlighted parts gives the impression of a romantic relationship rather than a friendship. It would be clearer if you use like instead.
