In this May, "Star Wars, Episode 3" will be released. This is the sixth and the final film of Star Wars series.
The first movie was released on theater in 1977. That was "Episode 4". Star Wars story is consisting six films and from 1977 to early 1980s three movies: Episode 4,5,6 were released.
Famous characters, such as Princess Leia, Han solo and Luke Skywalker of Jedi Knight fought against an evil empire. I had an impression that these three movies are categorized in space adventure. But in Episode 5 and 6, the truth was revealed that Luke was a son of Darth Vader, the second one of the evil empire and Luke and Princess Leia were twins. This relationship added an atmosphere not only space adventure but also a story of father and son.
Episode 1 was released in around 1998, more than 10 years after Episode 6 was made.
Episode 1,2,3 are a story of Darth Vader ( his real name is Anakin Skywalker), his childhood , younger days ( Jedi Knight) and adulthood. The atmosphere is darker than the former ones.
Because we know Anakin Skywalker will fall to dark side and become an evil person. And that is why, we want to watch and know how and why Anakin, a good boy will become a Darth Vader.
It was 1972 that Gorge Lucas, the director of these films, had an idea of Star Wars for the first time. And he continued to have this idea more than thirty years and keep making the films.I think that is great. He had been having the idea more htan 30 years!
The order of making the films is unique. The forth story was made first. Gorge Lucas said that he wanted to make a space fantasy such as Flash Gordon, with a combination of James Bond. ( we should set aside the question that James Bond is a character of a space fantasy.)
So I understand that the forth one was made first. It was a typical space fantasy. To tell the truth, I was surprised when I heard that Episode 1 had been making.Though I knew that Star Wars had six volumes, I was sure that after Episode 6, no more Star Wars film would be made. Because these three films are concluded as one space fantasy by Darth Vader's and his emperor's death and Darth Vader may be remain as an evil and a mysterious character.
But in this May, the final film will be released and the mystery will be revealed. Young Anakin will wear that black costume and helmet.
Now I have an impression that six Star Wars films are a story of Anakin Skywalker. For me , as one of Star Wars fans, it does not matter that episode 2 ( so far, the latest one ) was chosen as one of the worst movies in that year. I simply like these films and I think that it is not "Star Wars" without only one of them.
