Stand/stand by

After careful consideration, I still stand/stand by my position that learning about history is valuable for people all over the world. No matter what the future is going to be, knowledge will be passed through generations continuously, and will help our community take steps forward. We should never ignore studying history!

According to the words underlined above, which ones should I use to make the sentence grammatically correct?
