Hi
Please tell me if this sentence needs a "the" before "others":
He is standing high above (the) other boys.

If some particular other boys are part of the context, then you need "the". By the way, if the standing is not a literal standing at a higher elevation, you need 'stands', not 'is standing'. CJ
