Standards of liking?

Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me whether the third person has rephrased and explained the sentence correctly?
John-:What impresses you about Craig?
David-I like Craig(a political leader in an electoral campaign) because of his holistic approach to our countries development.Such as making education free for all at all levels, whereas you like Noronda (Rival of Craig) because of his mere locally based development programs.
Third Person-:David's standards for liking Craig are better than that of John.
Is the colored sentence correct?
Thanks!
