stand against/near an inside wall

Pick a strong desk or table to crawl under, or stand against/near an inside wall where nothing can fall on you.

Hi,
Do both against and near fit in the above and mean about the same to you? Thanks.

Hi Anglihilic, I believe in this context, against means standing with your body touching an inside wall - as it says, so nothing can fall on you. Near is not good enough. Best regards, - A.
