Staff room

Hi,

What do we call the room at schools in which teachers rest? I know that "staff room" is british.

Do we have different word in AmrEng?

And also can we use it for university?

Regards,

Iman

I've always heard it called the "teacher's lounge." (AmE)

Thank you MalRey very much. That was useful enough.

Hi,

When I was in univerity in Britain, the term was 'the Senior Common Room'. The SCR.

The place for undergraduates was 'the Junior Common Room'. The JCR.

I believe these terms are still used.
