Staff

Hello,

1. Am I wrong to use "I would like to urge all the staff to work in unity" or should I use "I would like to urge all the colleagues to work in unity"?

2. A new colleague join us. Should I use "She is our new staff" or "She is our new colleague"

I am not 100% sure about 1 - the first is probably better, in 2, the second is better

I would like to urge all staff to ... (no 'the')

From my understanding, Staff refers to all employees in the company.
So, for (2) colleague will be the right english.

For (1) I am much confident in the latter.

Correct me if I am wrong. Can someone confirm it?
