Sports have no role in the school curriculum

Academic subjects have played an essential part in the school curriculum while physical education especially sports sometimes is not seen as worthy lessons for students to study. A number of people claim that both team and individual competitive sports have no role at school. I believe that it is a totally true fact due to the following reasons.

Firstly, many kinds of sports are not appreciated due to its difficulties and bad effects on heath. Football players, for example, take a long time which is approximately 20 years to be trained as a professional player in extreme conditions while academic degrees need less years to acquire and school work is also easier. Moreover, in terms of heath, tough exercise is usually given to the athletes and sport players can be injured in the competitions. Consequently, it leads to bad health when they get older. That is why many people do not consider sports as a wise choice to take up and learn. Secondly, every sport requires determination and sometimes innate talent while there are a variety of subjects for students to choose. They can pick up some of the most suitable subjects to their abilities and hobbies to study. As a result, students always focus on studying them and ignore sports. Finally, academic diplomas help people build a good and long future with reputation and well paid job. For instance, a director can earn millions of dollar a month with just some signatures and contracts. By contrasts, a sport player only get thousands of dollar if he is successful in the competition.

All in all, I think that sport seems to vanish gradually in the school curriculum owning to the prejudices on sports of teachers and students. Although it is difficult, it also benefits us in some ways. Therefore, we do have to ignore it.
