Sports Day

Please help me to correct them, thanks!

Today is / was Sports Day (at St Theresa school). The pupils gathered at the school early morning. Most pupils and teachers travelled to the Stadium by bus. While boarding the bus, we all felt excited and happy.

We waited patiently in/on the bus before arriving the destination. When we reached there, we lined up according to colours in groups. There were red, blue, yellow and red in groups.

Some exciting events awiting for us such as 100 metres, 200 metres race, and telematches.

The sports / sports events would start about 8.00 a.m. All the surroundings of the stadium were / was decorated with colourful balloons and bundings. It looked atrractive and beautiful. The teachers had done all the preparation for the sports to be run smoothly. Many parents and friends came early sitting at the guests seats giving their supports to their children. They began to liven the sports.

Athletes from other school joined the 200 metre relay race. Our school athletes were trained hard for the sports events. They hoped to get the champion with confidence . At the end, our school atheletes got a runner-up trophy during the prize-giving ceremony. I was proud and happy. At about 11.30 p.m. the sports events was over. We were looking forward to the next year sports day.
