How would you phrase the following ?

Is form the correct word in this context?

He’s not good at any sport(s), but he has the form down pat. He’ll look like he’s played forever but in reality all he has down is the form.

He swing a tennis racquet perfectly or shoots a basketball the right way but doesn’t really know how to play.
