Hi,
Broadly speaking, sports is the plural form.

Examples
‘Her favorite sports are football and basketball.’
‘His favorite sport is baseball.’
‘Do you like to play sports?’
‘Does Jack play any sports?’
‘Soccer is a team sport.’
‘Do you watch sports on TV?’

However, your example does not imply any difference. The only difference I can see

Yes, and you will be understood.
But, as Regards has pointed out, you'll hear "sports" in the AmE and "sport" in BrE.
