Letter Writing
Sponsorship letter to consulate ...
Can you please comment on the following?
This is not corporate sponsorship letter writing. The letter mainly emphasizes that I am inviting my in-laws to the USA for a pleasure visit and that I shall be supporting them (in all ways) during their stay here.
is it 'visit USA ...' or 'visit the USA' ?
do i need the leading tabs (for paras) ?
is it 'is it?' or 'is it ?'
is the date required ? if so where, top-right or bottom-left/right? (it is missing right now)
also there will be a similar letter addressed to my in-laws (by my wife and me)
inviting them to visit us here in the US, which will be less formal. Do we sign this
letter OR simply write our name, type our name or print our name?

Sub: Issuance of visitor's visa to my in-laws
Dear Sir/Madam,
I, John Doe, work as a Software Consultant (Systems Architect) for CompanyA Corp located at 1234, Some Drive, Suite 400, City, State 12345 and earn $*** per year. I would like to invite my in-laws, Mr. James Bond and Mrs. Jenna Bond to visit the USA for tourism purposes and to attend the Graduation Ceremony of their daughter (and my wife), Jane Doe, at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. They will be staying with me at my home at the above mentioned address for 3 months.
During their stay in United States, I will bear all of their responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial responsibilities, travel expense within the USA, medical insurance, board and lodging. I will personally make sure that they leave the United States before the expiration of their authorized stay and that they will not become public charge on the part of United States government.
Hence, I kindly request you to grant my in-laws visitors' visa.

Hello, Some general points for both your letters. Yes you need to date them, this is usually put below the address and above the Dear.... I would forget about indenting (tab) at the start of paragraphs, it is not necessary, and certainly not where you only have one word or line like your last four tabs in this letter.

- Sign it and then print/type your name clearly underneath the signature.
- It might help to put in the date of their visit (entry and exit) and whether they have booked a return ticket (put in detail of airline/flights if possible).

Yes you need to date them, this is usually put below the address and above the Dear....
I would forget about indenting (tab) at the start of paragraphs, it is not necessary, and certainly not where you only have one word or line like your last four tabs in this letter.

I have made changes according to all your suggestions.
I put the date just like you said, aligned to the right of the page.
Got rid of the leading tabs throughout.
Will sign it with my name clearly printed/typed.
Will work on putting in the entry/exit dates and flight details.
