Hello! My name is Name, I’m a member of student council and a school name. I have recently come up with the idea to fix up our school courtyard and make it usable to both the students and faculty members. Right now our courtyard hasn’t been used in three years due to the fact that it has not obtained the proper maintenance and students have lost interest in making use of the space because of its current condition.
In the past, our student body has came together to renovate the courtyard with the help of sponsors. During the previous renovations, students helped by pulling weeds, picking up trash, replacing shrubbery and trees, pruning the bushes and planting new plants. In the upcoming renovation, in addition to the basics of replacing the plants and picking of the trash, I hope to replace the patio, brick work and build new picnic tables and benches that could be used for an outdoor classroom.
In the course of this renovation, students will gain the satisfaction of helping others and interpersonal skills that will help them succeed further on in life. Once the renovation is completed, my hope is that the courtyard will be used for many years as an outdoor study for students throughout the school year. Students that are exposed to nature, even outside in a courtyard, tend to be happier, healthier and perform better on standardized tests along with their overall achievements, than compared to students who aren’t exposed.
I am asking for your help in this project, because I would like to return our school courtyard into the beautiful place it once was, and by doing so the students of my school will get an opportunity to help others and make a difference to our school. I would greatly appreciate a helping hand administering this project. Thank you in advance and thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
