Hi

Does "sponge off somebody" and "sponge on somebody" mean the same?

How about: She shouldn't be sponging on them any longer.

To me as a British English speaker 'Sponge on' sounds wrong. You sponge off someboby meaning you take from them without giving but I have never heard to sponge on.
