splattering/sputtering day

Hi all :-) My name is Anton. I am from Russia. This is my fist post with one tough question.

What does "splattering day" mean? I've actually heard this from the movie. In context it was: "It was their song until one splattering day" - the day a couple broke up.

Not sure. Splattering is an odd way to describe a day (unless it was raining? But still an odd phrase to use, you wouldn't expect most people to think that from splattering day).

Not sure. Splattering is an odd way to describe a day (unless it was raining? But still an odd phrase to use, you wouldn't expect most people to think that from splattering day).

I think you may have misheard things a little - could it have been 'one shattering day' - their relationship (and world?) was shattered by their break up? That makes much more sense.

I am sure it was "splattering". But thanks for "shattered". I couldn't hear it in other scene of the movie.
