Spirituality

The spirituality of getting

In some current forms of spirituality, people focus on manfesting things they want in their lives. If they want more money, a better job, or a loving partner, they focus on brining these things into their lives.

In this context, I don't think 'spirituality' is about something really devine or religous. I wonder if there is any easy word for this spirituality. Can't it be translated into belief or faith?

Thanks in advance!

Dear Mariott I think you are right to say the word "spirituality" does not work when you are describing one person's own needs or desires Usually, spirituality refers to needs and hopes that are shared with a group of people (or with all people) There isn't one word that covers what you mean - where only one person's needs are considered. Here are some ideas.. - He wants to be a millionaire by the age of 25: that is his motivation - In any situation, he is looking to make money: that's his mindset - He is always trying to talk to the most beautiful woman in the room: it's his nature - His outlook on life is rather selfish The suggestions you give also work well..

  • - He has faith in nothing except money - He has just one belief - furthering his own career What awful sentences!
