spin-off VS byproduct VS side product

Hi,

I understand all the three terms have (more or less) the same meaning?... but not sure to what extent they are close/interchangeable.
If you could comment on them?

Also, perhaps there are other (general, slang) words close enough to "byproduct" in meaning?

I have never heard 'side product'; perhaps you are thinking of the unrelated 'side effect'. A 'spin-off' is a preconceived derivative, while a 'byproduct' is accidental and only after perhaps found useful. I speak generally, of course.
