When you ask someone if he's okay to eat hot food or spicy food.Which of the following would be most proper?

*Do you care for spicy food?/Do you care for hot stuff?
*Can you eat spicy food?/Can you eat hot stuff?
*Do you eat spicy food a lot?/Do you eat hot stuff a lot?

People in Singapore always say "hot" instead of "spicy". I have to clarify with them every time if they mean the temperature or the food is spicy. It's really confusing to me. Is it common to use "hot" to refer to "spicy food" in other countries?
