Listen, Bbk: either you are typing these questions very poorly or the originals are written very poorly, and until we determine which problem it is and correct it, I am unable to judge why you cannot get the answers yourself. As this question stands, both answers area again incorrect. Please check the originals, type them accurately, and then try to answer yourself first.

Then the original text is wrong. Yes, please check it.

We are happy to have you ask about as many of these questions as you wish. All I ask in return is that (1) you type them carefully and (2) you make an effort to answer them yourself first.

Thanks.

Here is a picture from the software. I just wrote (A) and (D), which one of them is my answer and the other is the software's answer.

Aha! Thank you, Bbk. What we have is a mistake in the original. (A) should read 'spending long hours'.

Now, do you still have a question?

It may be getting too late for me here, Bbk.

If the test writer actually intended 'spending long hour', then that answer is obviously wrong (no '-s')-- and (D) does work grammatically at least. Why I don't like (D) is that the word order is odd; it is usually 'hours long spent'.
