SPELLING

Hi everibody. I am studying to become a teacher of English and in Oral Expression which is fonetics too, they ask us to do SPELLING when teachers, for example, dictate words that we have to write in fonectic. The question is that I haven't understand yet what should I do when they ask me to do the

" spelling" of those fonetics words that were dictated by the teacher. Could somebody help me?
