Spelling

I have this test in marketing in a while...... but no connection to the test one thing occurred to me, why is marketing not spelt with two T's? the last letter is a constant and the prior one is a vowel, exactly what you need for it to be spelt as marketting and when i looked for it on google i did see places in which it was spelt with two T's.
