Hello,
I am taking English class and need to the the speech for a topic of my choice. I chose the article from the internet. I just need grammar check and opinion if that sound right. Some advice what to add. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
I found this article about baby who was starved nearly to death by lazy parents on November 18, 2013 in Hood County, Texas. I chose this article because it gets to my heart.I don't get how a parent, it doesn't really matter what age he or she is, is able to not feed her own baby. Where is the mother's love?? where is the father??
The young couple, Justin and Brittany Alston were sentenced to 60 years in prison after it was discovered that they had
starved their baby nearly to death because they were too lazy to take care of him. Baby was found by the tenagers who were attending party in a parents mobile home. From the sudden they heard crying in the back of the trailer, what they saw was unbelievable. Baby was laying down emaciated covered in his urine and vomitt. When they got to the hospital,doctors didn't believe that he will survive. Investigators believe that baby wasn't fed for over two months, When mother was asked why she didn't fed her baby she said she had others things to do like getting oil changed in the car. Both parents said that they prefer drinking and smoking pot with their friends instead of taking care of their child. Doctors fed baby by IV fluids, and now he is doing really well. When I see news like that I am discusted. How you can do such a thing to an inocent baby. Somebody may say. oh they were doing drugs they didn't know what they are doing. I say NO to that.
At some point, people have to be held accountable for their own actions, as was the case
for these "ADULTS" who nearly killed their own baby. Crimes against babies, are the worst of the lot, as the child cannot defend themselves against harm perpetuated by adults, and in THIS case the "adults" where the child's own parents. I think that they both need to have a mental issues to do that. They were both smart enough to know how to make baby but they werent smart enough to learn how to take care of it.
