Speech & Pronunciation

Speech Assessment and 'problems' ?

Can someone please assess my speech?

What's strange is that I'm aware that I mumble and talk in a monotonic tone, but I can't seem to correct it. I'd see a voice coach but there aren't any in our area.

I also strain my voice quite easily when reading something aloud.

Are there any exercises/methods I can do at home to correct these erm... problems?

Hello, Marcosck - and welcome to English Forums. Sorry, but your voice and enunciation sound fine to me - much better than most students. There is no need to worry about reading aloud.

There was a little bit right near the beginning that was hard to understand, but I'm not really sure whether it was you or the quality of the recording itself that was to blame. Your intonation is a bit flat, but I've heard much worse. On the other hand, when people read texts, they often end up sounding a bit m

Thanks, Micawber and Yankee.

I become aware that my intonation is going flat when talking, but I can't seem to fix it. If I try to use more air and talk louder, I run out of breath. And I can't talk softly without sounding like Eeyore(nasally voice).
