Specific questions and expressions

Are these 2 the same? I wrote "specific questions" for the first line of my paragraph, and I use "specific questions" and "expressions" alternatively for the following sentences in my paragraph. Is it acceptable?

Questions and expressions are not necessarily the same. A question will end in a question mark when written. An expression often does not.

"Have you ever been to USA?" (question)
"If I had a cent for every time I've heard that, I'd be a millionare." (expression)

Thanks, guys. I guess I will just stick to "questions" throughout the paragraph.
