Special Gift

I wrote a short essay about a special gift I've received.
I suppose there are some grammer mistakes in my essay. Thank you for check it.

-----------------------------------------------------

About four years ago, my wife bought me a CD player as birthday present.

The player is silver and very thin. It’s also very elegant in appearance.
I think it has great meaning for me because it’s my first one and I received it from the most important person in my life.

It is slightly old now for having been used for four years, but it is still working perfectly.
I often use it to listen to my favourite music, or listen to some English audio to improve my English.
So I think it’s not only a beautiful present, it’s quite useful as well.
Despite the high price, I think the money deserves it.

Hi YoHf,

The reason why it has a great meaning for me is that it has been my first one and it was bought from the most important person in my life.

I'd get rid of "bought". "Bought from" sounds odd to me.

Just my two cents though.

Not quite right. Rather:

"The reason it means a lot to me is that it was my first one, and was given (to) me by the most important person in my life."
