Speaking task

Again a speaking task that I have written down. Could you help be to correct it?

Why are these issues important to people around the world?
- Crime
- Education for all
- Pollution
- Poverty
- Over- population

- Crime is a big issue these days since everyone wants to be safe in their environment. Nobody would like to be afraid of going out at night for example. Luckly we don’t have a high crime rate here in Spain, but in other countries crime is an everyday situation.
- Everyone wants to have an opportunity in life that’s why education for all is very important. An educated country is a successful country. Knowledge is power.
- The topic about pollution gains more and more importance nowadays. People are aware of the fact that conserving the environment is importantfor the future, and our children.
- Poverty is a hot topic since the economic crisis. No one wants to be the victim of poverty. Besides the fear of losing one’s job has increased, and there are plenty of jobless right now trying to survive.
- Over- population isn’t a topic which is discussed often in my country since we don’t have this problem, but I can imagine that in countries like China or India it must be a difficult situation because there are not enough facilities for so many people.
