Speaking on the topic of TRAVELLING

I prepared the following talk on the topic of travelling as pratice for the speaking component of the IELTS test. Could anyone help me check it and make it more natural, please?

Once I felt stuck in a rut with my job. Everyday at work was monotonous and I felt like I got itchy feet, i wanted to get away from it all then on a whim I and some of my homeboys packed light, hit the beach which is a 3-hour drive away from the city where I'm living and we spent 3 days there. It is a secluded beach on an isolated island. we did a bunch of things there. Take one day for an example, in the morning, we just went for a walk along the shore, and did some sightseeings Everything was spec'tacularly beautiful. Then, we went sunbathing while enjoying the fresh air, hearing the birds. I felt so close to nature. In the afternoon, we had a picnic before going for a dip. When the sun came down, we erected tents and made a fire nearby to prepare for dinner. On the way, we had bought seafood that would be grilled and meat for barbecue and other ingredients enough for us to feast on. What's more, we had a little party and drank till the morning. So we had a blast there. It was a perfect get-away that I will come back any time soon. This trip was a chance for me to unwine mentally and recharge my body physically.
