Speaking of something

Hello there,

I was wondering if I could use the following sentence:

"Speaking of things I need to do today, I have to go to the dentist"

To give you some background, let´s pretend I am talking to someone and I remember suddenly something I have to do today.

Thank you

EnFricardo"Speaking of things I need to do today, I have to go to the dentist."

This is OK if the topic of "things I need to do today" has just been mentioned. (If it hasn't, you wouldn't use the "Speaking of ~" expression.)
