Newspapers play an indispensable role in our lives
Newspaper has played an important role in our lives. People have learnt not only about their place but also the places all over the world by reading the newspaper. Many great men and women hailed the newspaper for the impact it had had on the common people and the way it influenced the thoughts and actions of those in poor.
I would like to present my views for and against the topic Newspapers play an indispensable role in our lives.
Newspaper plays an indispensable role in our lives. We come to know about the recent events by reading the newspaper. Certain events like international level meetings, major accidents, natural calamities, breakthroughs in science and technology, drastic changes in weather, celebrations in the lives of important personalities and world leaders are the things which newspaper brings to our living room. The knowledge of these events has an immeasurable effect on the people. One of the most important advantages of keeping ourselves updated with all these events is we can be better prepared to face some of those events, emergencies and so on.
Newspaper gives an elaborate account of the events. Today the print media especially newspaper gives an in-depth analysis of certain pressing social issues. And, another very important aspect of newspaper is it is within the reach of the common man. Thus, it is for this reason and all the others mentioned earlier I strongly believe that newspaper plays an indispensable role in our life.
Although newspaper is useful, we cannot say they play an indispensable role in our lives. In the past when electronic media had not been very much advanced, people relied on newspaper. But, today people do not need to wait for the newspaper because the events happening around the world instantly flash on the television.
Further today we live in the internet age where information sharing is happening at speeds man had never envisaged. Thus, I am of the strong opinion that though newspaper is very useful, their worth has been considerable dwarfed by the information overload effected by visual media and internet.
Newspapers which had been an important part of man’s life today see themselves sidelined by the hourly updates given by regional, national and international television channels apart from the news portals by the internet portals which provide news updates with photos and motion pictures.
I would like to conclude by saying that though newspapers face a tough competition with visual media and internet, its finely scripted editorial columns and interesting commentaries on sporting events and movies by qualified and experienced journalists can never be exaggerated.

I must say that your observation is very much right. The question is Write for and against the "News plays an indispensable role in our lives", and that is why I have mentioned in the introductory paragraph

To my mind, it would be more interesting if you discussed the pro and con of each point in a single paragraph about that point.
