0 Speaking up is an important skill to learn in school. I call it a “skill” because you must speak your mind with courage and discretion. 02 br

00 When I was younger, I was afraid of speaking up in class. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that speaking up isn’t such a bad thing. In fact, I can learn more from it than from any other form of studying. 02 br

00 In schools in the 01 00 US 02 00 (and perhaps even in 00 ), there is an unspoken rule: when you see something wrong, don’t speak up. If you do, you’re a “snitch”. This has saved many bullies from getting punished. So I’m here to tell you to have courage in these situations. When something wrong happens, tell a teacher or a parent or anyone; and if you feel scared about the results of your actions, tell someone about that, too. 02 br

00 On the other hand, when you see something “bad”, for example, someone drops a piece of trash, speak up with discretion. In these cases, no one will get hurt if you keep the truth to yourself and pick up the trash. But when it’s time for you to speak your mind, don’t be afraid to do it! 02 br
