Speak to and speak with debate.

Hi,

I would like to know which one is correct, speak to or speak with?

If both to and with are used after the word "Speak"; then under what circumstances?

This has been debated a lot in this forum and others. My personal thought is that if it's already only two people, then "speak to" sound a bit like a parent or superior (I will talk, you will listen) while "speak with" sounds like an expectation of a dialog (we well talk about this topic together). If you are asking for someone on the phone, then "May I speak to" is fine.
