Spanish

I've learned Spanish in Middle School.

What is wrong with the sentence?

Top answer

in Middle School implies when I was attending Middle School . As such it is a mention of a specific time. The present perfect tense ( I've learned ) is not used when a specific time is mentioned in the same sentence, so the sentence should be in the simple past: I learned Spanish (when I was) in Middle School.
