If a sentence is not finished and instead ended with "...", should there be space or not before the dots? And also, if a sentence begins with "..." and then continues from the type of sentece I described first, should there be a space or not after the dots? Is there any difference in how this is treated in British and American English?
Example:
I had to ...
... talk to the man.
Thank you!

There is no space before or after an ellipsis. If it comes at the end of a sentence, the period appears as a 4th dot, again with no space between.
