South Africa, please check

Hallo,

I really glad I found this forum and I hope some people will be able to help me. Please check my essay for grammar, words, style and so on. You would really do me a huge favour!

It is an old myth that South Africa was entirely uninhabitated when European settlers arrived. Of course this misbelief, which has been wide-spread among South Africans until quite recently, helped to make the land occupation of whites seem legitimate in later periods.
But archaeologists and historians have now successfully proved this assumption wrong.
In fact, a tribe of funter-gatherers called San originally lived in this region and left rock evidetal paintings and engravings/ as proof of their existence.

Later, about 2000 years ago, the Khoekhoe, another tribe of former hunters and gatherers, turned to herding for the first time.

The country has undergone another change between 300 AD and 1000 AD when Bantu-speaking crop cultivators moved there. Pottery artefacts indicate(argue?) that these Iron Age agriculturists came to the south in several streams fom Easy and Central Africa, but not all experts agree with this thesis ( The making of a modern South Africa, p. 7)
The rapid growth of Khoekhoe and Bantu-speaking communities, forced the San to move into less adequate/appropriate/convenient for farming, “such as the moountainous region of the Drakenbsberg in Natal and the eastern Transvaal and the Cederberg of the Wersten Cape.” (The making of a modern South Africa, p. 8)

Herders and culticators had conflicts concerning grazing land but also traded goods among one another. However, this social and economical stucture was influenced dramatically by the arrival of the Europeans.

Thank you,
Nicole

It is an old myth that South Africa was entirely uninhabitated before the arrival of European settlers (i prefer intruders). To some extent, this wide-spread misbelief among South Africans has helped to make the invasion of the whites seemingly legitimate through such a sensitive part of history .
