‘sources’

I read (a) in a book and am wondering what difference there is between (a) and (b). Could anyone teach me?

(a) Among the unsaturated fatty acids we consume, most come from plant sources and fish.

(b) Among the unsaturated fatty acids we consume, most come from plants and fish.
