Sourced how?

A: He is preparing an expose on them.

B: Sourced how?

I saw this conversation in a movie and I was wondering if 'Sourced how' is okay to use or could you tell me what that expression is a short version of? Thank you so much as usual and take good care.

Hi. I take it as slang, meaning ' What is the source of the information he will use in this expose? How did he obtain this information?

Thank you so much and can I see it as a short version of 'How was it sourced'?

You can say that if you want to, but it is still jargon that is not totally clear.

How about 'What were the sources?'
