Sounds of animals

Hi

What kind of sounds do camels and eagles make? I have seen scream for both. Also, grunt for camels. So are these natural among native speakers?

The camel grunted and tried to break free.
The camel screamed and tried to break free.
The part of the jungle was resonating with the screams of the harpy eagles.

Thanks,

Tom

We have no academy to advise us in these matters, so there are no official names for the sounds of animals. I'd go with 'grunt' for the camels, and 'screech' for the eagles. That's not to say that other verbs are wrong.

In the very brief time that I claimed part-ownership of a camel, it simply sneered (silently) at me when I tried to engage in conversation with it. It did, occasionally, snort. I have vivid memories of wiping off the afteemath of such snorts.
